A tower of brownies with white chocolate eyes: shareable, festive and as eye-catching as Bargatze’s record.

A festive tower of fudgy brownies, stacked like a stadium full of fans, with white chocolate eyes. Perfect for sharing and celebrating Nate Bargatze’s record: sweet, generous and a little absurd.

Ingredients

  • 200 g dark chocolate
  • 150 g butter
  • 200 g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 100 g flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 50 g white chocolate (for the eyes)
  • optional: edible black decorating pen

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line a 20x20 cm square baking tin with parchment paper.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate and butter together au bain-marie or in the microwave.
  3. Whisk the sugar and eggs until fluffy. Add the vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the melted chocolate and butter into the egg mixture.
  5. Sift the flour and salt over the batter and fold in.
  6. Pour the batter into the tin and bake for 25-30 minutes. Let cool completely.
  7. Cut the brownies into cubes and stack them into a tower.
  8. Melt the white chocolate, make small eyes on the brownies. Use a decorating pen for pupils if desired.

Serving notes

  • Serve on a large platter, like a stadium full of fans.
  • Add a Guinness World Record card as an edible print (optional).
  • Let everyone take a piece: sharing is required.
