A bundle of edible arrows full of zing and heat, straight to your plate as a warning.

Long carrots and peppers form a bundle of edible arrows, referencing the 'warning shot' and coordinating AI agents. Served on a sharp, tangy lentil salad with a spicy yogurt dressing for tension and contrast.

Ingredients

  • 4 large carrots
  • 4 red pointed peppers
  • 2 yellow bell peppers
  • 200 g green lentils
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 lemon
  • 150 g Greek yogurt
  • 1 red chili pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • fresh coriander (optional)

Method

  1. Cook the lentils according to package instructions. Drain and let cool.
  2. Slice the carrots lengthwise. Halve the pointed peppers and remove seeds. Cut the yellow peppers into wide strips.
  3. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Place carrots and peppers on a baking tray, drizzle with 1 tbsp olive oil, sprinkle with cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Roast for 20 minutes until lightly charred.
  4. Finely chop the red onion and garlic. Sauté both in 1 tbsp olive oil until translucent. Add the lentils, toss with white wine vinegar and some salt.
  5. Make the dressing: mix yogurt with juice of 1 lemon, finely chopped red chili, salt, and pepper.
  6. Arrange the lentil salad as a base on a large platter. Lay the roasted carrots and peppers in a fan shape, like a bundle of arrows pointing to one spot.
  7. Drizzle the yogurt dressing in sharp lines over the top. Garnish with coriander.

Serving notes

  • Serve on a large platter so the 'arrows' are visible as a bundle.
  • Offer extra yogurt dressing on the side for more heat.
  • Sprinkle with extra coriander for color contrast.
