A trophy-shaped stack salad with blue-white touches, celebrating Messi’s farewell as Argentina’s football hero.

A festive salad of fried potato slices and grilled zucchini, stacked like a trophy of football awards, with blue and white accents from feta and blue grapes. The whole forms a trophy silhouette, an ode to Messi’s farewell in Argentina’s blue and white.

Ingredients

  • 600 g waxy potatoes
  • 2 zucchinis
  • 150 g feta cheese
  • 100 g blue grapes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 small red onion
  • 4 sprigs parsley
  • Salt and pepper

Method

  1. Peel the potatoes and cut into thick slices about 1 cm.
  2. Boil the potato slices in salted water for 8 minutes, drain and pat dry.
  3. Slice the zucchinis diagonally into slices about 1 cm thick.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in a grill pan and grill the zucchini slices until striped. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Heat the remaining oil in a frying pan and fry the potato slices golden brown on both sides.
  6. Cut the feta into cubes and halve the blue grapes.
  7. Slice the red onion into thin rings.
  8. On each plate, stack the potato and zucchini slices alternately into a tower, forming a trophy shape.
  9. Decorate the stack with feta cubes (white) and halved blue grapes (blue) as decoration on the trophy.
  10. Garnish with red onion, chopped parsley, and a little lemon zest.

Serving notes

  • Serve on a large flat plate so the trophy is clearly visible.
  • Scatter extra feta and grapes around the base for a festive effect.
