A spicy salad as an offline data center, with rows of vegetables and disconnected eggs.

A spicy, tangy vegetable salad shaped like a data center with offline server racks: carrot and cucumber sticks in rows, halved eggs as offline lights. Sharp from red chili, tangy from vinegar. The silhouette refers to the attacked Russian data centers.

Ingredients

  • 2 large carrots
  • 1 cucumber
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 red onion
  • 1 red chili
  • 3 tbsp white wine vinegar
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt to taste
  • freshly ground black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Boil the eggs hard for 8 minutes, cool and peel.
  2. Cut the carrots and cucumber into long sticks about 10 cm long and 1 cm thick.
  3. Slice the red onion into thin half rings.
  4. Slice the red chili into thin rings, remove seeds for less heat if desired.
  5. Mix vinegar, olive oil, salt, and black pepper in a bowl for the dressing.
  6. Toss carrot, cucumber, onion, and chili with the dressing.
  7. Cut the eggs in half.
  8. On a large flat platter, arrange the vegetable sticks in three straight rows, like server racks.
  9. Place two egg halves on each 'rack' with the cut side up as offline lights.
  10. Serve immediately or let marinate for 15 minutes for extra flavor.

Serving notes

  • Serve on a square platter for the 'data center effect'.
  • Garnish with extra chili rings for more punch.
