A clear soup with halved eggs as shots, neatly presented for a solemn medical nod.

Clear vegetable soup with a row of halved boiled eggs as 'shots' in a strict straight line, referencing the promising injection against skin cancer. The eggs stand out like syringes above the soup, solemnly and precisely arranged.

Ingredients

  • 2 liters vegetable broth
  • 4 carrots
  • 1 leek
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Bring the vegetable broth to a boil in a large pot.
  2. Slice the carrots, leek, and celery into thin rounds.
  3. Add the vegetables and bay leaves to the broth and simmer for 20 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile, boil the eggs for 8 minutes until hard, cool them in cold water, and peel.
  5. Slice the eggs lengthwise in half.
  6. Season the soup with salt and pepper and remove the bay leaves.
  7. Divide the soup among four deep plates.
  8. In each plate, lay a straight row of four halved eggs, rounded side up, like a series of injections.
  9. Sprinkle with fresh parsley.

Serving notes

  • Serve on a white plate for maximum formality.
  • Ensure the eggs are perfectly aligned, like syringes at a presentation.
