Rectangular salad as negotiation table, camps of ingredients and eggs as mediators.

A solemn salad in a long rectangular dish as a negotiation table, with two clear camps of ingredients on each side and four halved boiled eggs in the center as mediators. The layout directly refers to the Syria-Israel talks in Jordan.

Ingredients

  • 200 g arugula
  • 1 cucumber
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 200 g cherry tomatoes
  • 4 eggs
  • 150 g feta cheese
  • 100 g black olives, pitted
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • salt and pepper

Method

  1. Boil the eggs for 8 minutes until hard, cool in cold water, peel, and halve them.
  2. Slice the cucumber diagonally, cut the bell peppers into strips, and halve the cherry tomatoes.
  3. Spread the arugula over a long rectangular serving dish as the base.
  4. Arrange the cucumber and feta on one long side as 'camp 1'.
  5. Arrange the bell pepper and olives on the other long side as 'camp 2'.
  6. Place the halved eggs in a straight line down the center as mediators.
  7. Scatter the cherry tomatoes along the edges for color.
  8. Mix olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, salt, and pepper into a dressing and drizzle over the salad.

Serving notes

  • Serve on a long rectangular dish for the negotiation table effect.
  • Make sure the eggs are neatly lined up in the center as mediators between the camps.
