Powerless Comfort Crumble

Warm crumble with chocolate fingers as broken power poles: comfort in times of power outages.
Ingredients
- 5 large apples (preferably Elstar or Jonagold)
- 2 tablespoons raisins
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 100 g sugar
- 100 g flour
- 75 g oats
- 100 g cold butter
- pinch of salt
- 12 chocolate fingers (e.g. Verkade)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Peel and dice the apples, mix with lemon juice, raisins, cinnamon, and 50 g sugar.
- Spread the apple mixture in a rectangular baking dish.
- Mix flour, oats, 50 g sugar, salt, and butter into crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumbs over the apples.
- Bake the crumble for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool for 5 minutes. Place 3 rows of 4 chocolate fingers on top, some askew, as snapped power poles.
Serving notes
- Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
- Make sure the chocolate fingers remain visible as power poles.
