Chicken soup with an edible private jet as a nod to Harry and Meghan’s return flight.

Clear chicken soup featuring an edible private jet: a long chicken fillet as fuselage, halved eggs as engines, carrot strips as wings. Served solemnly, referencing Harry and Meghan’s flight back.

Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts (keep whole and long)
  • 2 liters chicken stock
  • 2 large carrots
  • 2 celery stalks
  • 2 onions
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 leek
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 sprigs parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Bring the chicken stock to a boil with bay leaf and chicken breasts. Simmer gently for 20 minutes.
  2. Remove the chicken breasts and keep whole. Strain the stock.
  3. Cut carrot and celery into thin strips about 8 cm long. Slice leek into thin rings. Chop the onion.
  4. Boil the eggs hard, peel and halve them lengthwise.
  5. Add onion, carrot, celery, and leek to the stock. Simmer gently for 10 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Slice one chicken breast lengthwise. On each plate, lay a long piece of chicken as the airplane fuselage.
  8. Place a halved boiled egg on each side as engines. Lay carrot strips as wings and a short one as the tail.
  9. Ladle the soup carefully around the plane. Garnish with parsley.

Serving notes

  • Serve on a large white plate so the airplane is clearly visible.
  • Garnish with an extra parsley sprig as a ‘runway’.
  • Serve without extra bread to keep the silhouette sharp.
