DateOctober 13, 2026

A salad as a scorched satellite dish: sharp, sour, with a charred edge.

This salad depicts a burned Starlink dish: a round base of grilled aubergine and radish, sharp red onion, and a charred 'burn' of roasted pepper. The silhouette directly refers to the sabotaged installation in Poland and brings tension to the plate with sharp and sour flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 aubergines
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 1 red onion
  • 8 radishes
  • 100 g feta cheese
  • 100 g arugula
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika powder
  • 1 lemon
  • salt and pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 220°C. Halve the peppers, remove seeds, and roast for 20 minutes until blackened. Let cool and peel off the skin.
  2. Slice the aubergines into 1 cm thick rounds. Brush with olive oil, sprinkle with salt, and grill in a grill pan until dark stripes appear.
  3. Cut the red onion into thin rings. Slice the radishes thinly.
  4. Make a dressing with 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp red wine vinegar, juice of half a lemon, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  5. Arrange the grilled aubergine slices in a circle on a large platter as the 'dish' base.
  6. Scatter the radish slices over the aubergine as dots on the dish.
  7. Place the roasted pepper pieces in the center as a jagged, burned spot.
  8. Sprinkle the red onion, feta, capers, and arugula over the salad.
  9. Drizzle the dressing over the salad just before serving.

Serving notes

  • Serve on a round platter for the satellite effect.
  • Make the 'burn spot' extra dark with extra paprika powder.
